After lighting it up in yet another stint as a tag team wrestler, Cesaro's breakout potential is steadily approaching its 2014 form. But potential is like a fun-house mirror.Potential is often skewed and can be a deceptive trait to the untrained eye. Despite his strong run alongside Tyson Kidd, and even because of it, Cesaro has very little potential outside of tag team wrestling.As I mentioned on the PodNasty Wrestling Podcast, dating back to his days in ROH, Cesaro has always done his best work as part of a team. He wasn't a world title contender in ROH, but he was two-time tag team champion as one-half of the Kings of Wrestling. The name was appropriate, as Cesaro and partner Chris Hero were among the best tag teams in the world at their peak.As part of the Real Americans and alongside Kidd in WWE, he's found his niche and dazzled fans without the pressures of having to captivate an audience on his own. Cesaro's solo accomplishments have been more forgettable.With no dynamic promo abilities and limited character development, Cesaro has little to offer outside of pure wrestling ability. Daniel Bryan's rise to the WrestleMania 30 main event was based on an art-imitating-life story of The Authority not believing he was good enough to be WWEworld heavyweight champion. Fans demanded better, hijacked shows and Bryan and the Yes Movement would not be deterred.CM Punk has admitted multiple times that WWE allowed him to keep his name because there were no plans to even elevate him to the main roster. During a 2013 interview, Punk told wrestling broadcaster Sam Roberts(note: video contains profanity): "The whole deal was I was never to be used on television. This was like a company memo, basically like f--k CM Punk."Of course, Punk eventually shook off seemingly damning circumstances to become a perennial main eventer.So where's the Cesaro cult following' Where are the "Cesaro" chants during main event segments' If Cesaro is truly destined for bigger and better things, why do fans seem so content with his ongoing tag team title chase against The New Day'Ironically, the plight of the underutilized in WWE is an overrated concept. WWE Superstars earn what they create, whether it's connecting with fans on a nuclear level or outmaneuvering backstage politics.
