Aaron Kromer Suspended 6 Games by Bills: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction

Published by Bleacher Report on Mon, 03 Aug 2015

Buffalo Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer will be suspended without pay by the team for the first six games of the regular season, per NFL Network's Rand Getlin. The Bills provided a statement from team president Russ Brandon:According to the Buffalo News' Vic Carucci, the Bills may take the $127,000 owed to Kromer and donate it to charity. On July 12, Kromer was arrested for misdemeanor battery after allegedly pushing and striking a boy at a beach in Florida. Two days later, the Bills placed him on an indefinite leave of absence.ESPN.com's Mike Rodak reported last Thursday that Kromer pleaded not guilty to the charges, with a pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 2. Before the case could go any further, Florida assistantstate attorney Bobby Elmore announced the charges against Kromer had been dropped completely, per Rodak.Elmore added the alleged victims of the incident declined to continue their case against Kromer after reaching an "amicable resolution," per Tyler Dunne of the Buffalo News.Sal Capaccio of WGR 550 in Buffalo clarified what Kromer will be able to do until the season begins now that his legal situation has been resolved:The Bills haven't announced a replacement for Kromer in the six games in which he'll be absent. Kurt Anderson is the likely option after taking over during training camp, per the Bills:Pat Meyer, who was most recently an offensive line coach for the Chicago Bears, also shared some of the coaching duties with Anderson, per Fox Sports' Alex Marvez.Barring further punishment from the NFL, Kromer will make his return to the sidelines Oct. 25, when the Bills take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
