Barcelona Transfer News: Latest on Neymar, Denis Suarez Rumours

Published by Bleacher Report on Sat, 29 Aug 2015

Former Barcelona defender Juliano Belletti says a move to Manchester United would not be of particular interest to Neymar but admitted that a switch in the future could not be ruled out. That's according to Matthew Rogerson of Goal.com, who reports Belletti as telling Omnisport:"No I don't think so, Neymar is very happy in Barcelona. He has adapted to the team, the city and his family have adapted as well but nothing is impossible."As football journalist Rafael Hernandez notes, Neymar is highly valued at Barcelona after scoring 39 goals and adding 11 assists in all competitions last season, while the Brazilian has little reason to move:B/R's own Sam Tighe gives his take on the situation:While nothing is impossible, it's safe to say a move anywhere for Neymar in the foreseeable future is highly unlikely. The 23-year-old is already rightly considered one of the finest talents in world football and will be first in line to stake a claim as the very best when Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo eventually begin to decline.Further, from Barca even a club as prestigious as Manchester United could currently be viewed as something of a step down, so the Red Devils will need to firmly return to the glory days of old before they're able to attract him.Don't expect Neymar to be heading anywhere any time soon.Barca Midfielder Denis Suarez to Join VillarrealAccording to Samuel Marsden for Sport, Denis Suarez will join Villarreal on a permanent basis, thereby ending his loan spell with Sevilla a year early.Marsden adds that Villarreal "are set to pay Sevilla four million euros to end the loan, with Barca then allowing him to move El Madrigal for free," though the Catalan giants will have a buy-back clause as part of the deal.Per the report, Sevilla sporting director Monchi said:We are negotiating with Villarreal and Barca about Denis. Talks are very advanced. It was something that needed to be addressed. We have defended our interests satisfactorily and it will be a good deal for everyone. We have various ideas in the case that Denis does leave, but it's likely that we don't do anything right now.Marsden also notes that should the deal go through, Suarez's former club Manchester City are set to miss out, thanks to the nature of the deal:The midfielder was somewhat inconsistent last season but managed to score six goals in all competitions and lay on four for his team-mates, and with the Spaniard still only 21, Villarreal's hope that the youngster can further his potential is understandable.Expect Suarez to gain some consistency of performance next season as he continues his development with the Yellow Submarines. If Suarez impresses, then a move back to the Camp Nou could well be in the cards in the near future, thanks to Barca's intelligent use of the buy-back clause.
