AC Milan have reportedly entered the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Alex Song. That's according to Corriere dello Sport(h/ttalkSPORT), who add that the Rossoneri have joined West Ham United in pursuit of the Cameroonian and are hopeful of landing Song on loan. The midfielder spent last season plying his trade at Upton Park, but the 27-year-old would surely jump at the chance to join the Serie A side.In Milan, Song would have plenty of chances to nail down a starting berth ahead of the steady if uninspiring likes of Nigel De Jong or Antonio Nocerino. To do so, Song will have to rediscover the form that earned him his move to Barcelona. In his last season at Arsenal, the Cameroon international racked up a phenomenal 11 assists. He managed to create just two goals in his entire Barca career.Song registered three assists last season as he showed a steady improvement on his disappointing form with the Blaugrana, so if he's willing to grab the opportunity with both hands, he could revitalise his career with time still on his side.As Song is available on a free transfer next season, Barca would likely prefer a permanent transfer for Song in order to get something for him, but as the transfer window comes to a close, they may well accept a loan deal simply to get him off their books.Adama Traore Opens Up on Barca Exit, Hints at ReturnFormer Barca winger Adama Traore has discussed his move to Aston Villa from the Nou Camp and admits he's open to a return to the Catalan giants in the future. Per Chisanga Malata of the Daily Star, he said:I didnt talk to Luis Enrique [before leaving]. I only saw he didnt count on me.There are things you have to accept and I have to continue to develop. It was time to go.Returning' Nothing is impossible. There are spectacular players at Barca. If I get the opportunity to return I will make the most of it. Now is the time to prepare for that if it comes.Theres a lot of work to do. I have a lot to learn but Im happy to make [the Villa fans] happy. The 19-year-old has already made an impact for the Villans, scoring on his full debut in Villa's 5-3 win over Notts County in the Capital One Cup.Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe is impressed with the youngster:Tighe highlightsTraore's physicality, pace and dribbling ability as his core strengths but notes that the Spaniard's finishing and final ball are in need of development.According to Malata's report, Barca "inserted a three-year buy-back clause" in Traore's contract, so his development will be of continued interest. At Aston Villa, the winger has a much better platform from which to grow as he plies his trade at a much higher level than Barcelona B and will likely receive plenty of first-team opportunities. If he can achieve his tremendous potential, then a switch back to the Camp Nou is a likely scenario in the future.Read more World Football news on BleacherReport.com
