Demarcus Robinson Suspended by Florida: Latest Details, Comments

The Florida Gators suspended star receiver Demarcus Robinson for a violation of team rules ahead of Saturday's regular-season finale against the in-state rival Florida State Seminoles.Brett McMurphy of ESPN.com reported the news before kickoff at the Swamp in Gainesville, and Florida confirmed the suspension on Twitter.Robinson ranks first on the Gators with 47 receptions this season. CBS Sportsprojects him to be a third-round pick,should he choose to enter the 2016 NFL draft. A discouraging pattern of behavior may diminish Robinson's pro prospects, though, as the Associated Press' Mark Long noted:Gators head coach Jim McElwain has catalyzed an instant turnaround in his first year at the helm, leading his team to a 10-1 record and a spot in the SEC Championship Game, but he has endured multiple off-field episodes involving his players.In October, the NCAA banned prior starting quarterback Will Grier for a yearbecause of a positive performance-enhancing-drug test. The team also suspended cornerback Jalen Tabor and Treon Harris, who took over for Grier at quarterback,for its game against Tennessee on Sept. 26. It was Harris' second suspension in as many seasons.
