College Football Playoff Rankings 2015: Twitter Reacts to Top 25 Before Week 14

Published by Bleacher Report on Wed, 02 Dec 2015

The homestretch of the 2015 college football season is upon us, and a fresh batch of College Football Playoff rankings accompanied its arrival Tuesday evening. After last week's Top 25 featured Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma and Iowa in the top four spots, this week's rankings rollout came and went without changes to those positions despite Michigan State's destruction of Penn State and Ohio State's demolition of Michigan.A complete rundown of the new rankings can be viewed below:With another change to the playoff picture and shakeups galore facilitating conversation across the social media stratosphere, here's a look at how experts and analysts reacted to the final rankings release prior to the official CFP reveal.According to ESPN Stats & Info, Clemson has been on a dominant run in the CFP pole position: ESPN.com's Ted Miller broke down Stanford's odds with a Pac-12 title game showdown against USC on the horizon:CBS Sports' Dane Brugler expressed a similar sentiment:ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit concurred, as ESPN College Football documented:Fox Sports' Stewart Mandel noted Stanford has a chance to bolster its resume in a big way:Bleacher Report's Bryan Fischer and Mandel broke down Florida's playoff chances after a loss to Florida State: Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman ran down the scenario that could see No. 10 North Carolina slip into the playoff:Finally, ESPN.com's Brett McMurphy offered a lighter take on the CFP proceedings: While debate continues to rage on, clarity will come into view Sunday, Dec. 6, at noon ET. Once conference championship games conclude and final records have been tallied, the CFP committee will deliberate one final time before the final four tickets are punched. However, plenty could change between now and then. Should Alabama fall to Florida in the SEC Championship Game or Clemson falter against a qualified North Carolina squad with an ACC title on the line, chaos figures to reign supreme. That said, two spots appear to be solidified. Oklahoma looks like a lock after trouncing Oklahoma State, 58-23, in Bedlam last Saturday, and the winner of the Big Ten championship between Iowa and Michigan State is in prime position to capture a top-four seed.Strong cases can still be made for two-loss programs like Stanford and Ohio State, but the Cardinal and Buckeyes will have a hard time convincing the committee they deserve playoff berths without a sizable implosion from the Tigers or Crimson Tide this weekend.
