#FGM/C: 19.9m Nigerians have undergone cutting ' NpopC

As the world marks the 2016 International Day of Zero Tolerance against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), statistics from the National Population Commission has revealed that about 19.9 million Nigerians have undergone the practice, making it the third country with the highest case, behind Egypt and Ethiopia.The theme for this year's FGM: achieving the new Global Goals through the elimination of Female Genital Mutilation by 2030, is aimed at eradicating the practice by enlightening circumcisers on the health dangers and debunking the myths associated with the practice.
