AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am 2016: Saturday Leaderboard, Highlights

Published by Bleacher Report on Sun, 14 Feb 2016

A late charge by Phil Mickelson on Saturday gave him the lead after three rounds at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am at 16 under overall. Here is the updated leaderboard after the third round of play:Mickelson started the day at 10 under and recorded three birdies apiece on the front and back nine to finish six under on the day.He tied Hiroshi Iwata at 13 under on hole No. 18 thanks to this chip, per the PGA Tour:Mickelson grabbed the lead in style on No. 6, as the PGA Tour showed:Iwata entered Saturday tied for the lead at 11 under, but three bogeys put a damper on his six-birdie day.He also missed some solid opportunities to lower his score, parring hole No. 12 after a promising start, as the PGA Tour showed:He sits two strokes behind Mickelson in second place at 14 under overall.Freddie Jacobson and Sung Kang are both a stroke behind Iwata in a tie for third place heading into the tournament's final round.World No. 1 Jordan Spieth didn't play like the best golfer on tour Saturday. After two mediocre rounds that left him at three under, Spieth went two over in the third round thanks to three bogeys. At one under overall, he sits in a tie for 54th place heading into the final day. With a narrow lead, Mickelson doesn't have much of a cushion to work with. Five golfers are within four strokes of his perch at the top, and if Mickelson has a slow start Sunday, he could be under plenty of pressure.Stats courtesy of PGATour.com.
