Corey Coleman to Browns: Twitter Reacts as WR Is Selected in 2016 NFL Draft

The Cleveland Browns traded out of the second overall pick before the 2016 NFL draft and on Thursday made another deal with the Tennessee Titans to slide from eighth to 15th on the first-round draft board.After a longer wait than expected to choose a new player, Cleveland went with a much-needed playmaker in Baylor wide receiver Corey Coleman.Twitter lit up with reactions once the Browns had made their maiden choice under yet another new regime.Rotoworld's Patrick Daugherty praised the Coleman pick, crediting the genius of new Cleveland executive Paul DePodesta:Chris B. Brown of Smart Football dismissed any concern about Baylor's simplistic offense as Coleman prepares to make the NFL transition:Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman tempered optimism over the pick, given Coleman's destination:Faux John Madden also felt Coleman's career was doomed just by going to Cleveland:Here's the best of the rest:Cleveland's current roster is largely bereft of blue-chip talent, so the Browns needed to balance gaining future draft capital with acquiring at least one playmaker on either side of the ball on the first day of the draft.The front office did a commendable job of getting a lot in return for the No. 2 overall pick trade but also did well with the Tennessee trade, per the Browns' official Twitter account:Most important, despite all the wheeling and dealing, Cleveland added a stud in Coleman to excite the fanbase. With many more selections to play with in this year's draft, the Browns are at least off to a good start as they reconstruct their roster.Despite the selection of Coleman, Cleveland could use more pass-catchers to complement presumptive new starting quarterback Robert Griffin III, especially after losing Travis Benjamin in free agency. Coleman scored 20 touchdowns on 74 receptions in 2015 and shares an alma mater with Griffin.New head coach Hue Jackson needs weapons to execute his innovative offense, so look for the Browns to add at least one more wideout during Friday's draft action. But for now, Coleman is a magnificent start to retooling a group of subpar skill players.
