FormerNXT women's champion Bayley thrilled the WWE Universe by making her highly anticipated WWE main roster debut Sunday at Battleground as the mystery partner of Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte and Dana Brooke.The WWE Network shared a photo of the duo in the ring:Bleacher Report's Kevin Berge provided his initial take:Charlotte hit Natural Selection on Sasha, but Bayley made the save before the referee counted to three for the pinfall.As Dana and Bayley were brawling outside, Sasha locked in the Bank Statement on Charlotte, only for Dana to pull Charlotte to the outside. Sasha eventually got Charlotte back in the ring and forced the women's champion to tap out to the Bank Statement.Sasha and Bayley shared a hug after the match, via WWE on Twitter:Sasha also posted a photo of she and Bayley backstage:Bayley took to Twitter to offer her thoughts on a memorable night:Women's wrestling has taken off in a big way over the past couple of years in WWE, and Bayley has been a significant part of its emergence. Along with Banks, Charlotte and Becky Lynch, Bayley was part of the Four Horsewomen of NXT. The talented quartet had a number of fantastic matches against one another in WWE's developmental brand and essentially helped change the perception of women's wrestling.Bayley and Sasha have long had particularly good chemistry, as they engaged in two of WWE's best matches of 2015.Their bout at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn was special and received no shortage of accolades, which led to a 30-minute Iron Man match that main-evented NXT TakeOver: Respect.Bayley was then the last Horsewoman left standing in NXT, though, when WWE called up Sasha, Charlotte and Becky to the main roster on a full-time basis during the summer of 2015.The 27-year-old star was asked about her main roster aspirations on a number of occasions, and her comments suggested she was somewhat conflicted, according to Ted Gruber of Fansided:I look at it two different ways. Mentally and physically I feel I can make that next step. I think I have done everything I can here in NXT and I do want to test myself on the main roster. I want to be with the girls up there that were in the same place I was.But the mental sideI am very attached to the NXT product. With all the tours we are doing and all the things that have come our way, it's very special. I am excited to see what is next for us. Part of me wants to me stay and I would feel left out if I did leave and things are going on here.But in the end, I love what I'm doing and I will continue to love it no matter where I am.Now that the time has finally come for Bayley to make the leap, however, she seems committed to bringing her bubbly character and great in-ring skills to WWE's top shows.After facing Asuka at NXT TakeOver: Dallas, there wasn't much left for Bayley to accomplish in NXT, and there were few opponents left for her to face.That changes now that she is part of the main roster, as she can rekindle her rivalry with her fellow Horsewomen and do so on an even bigger stage.Bayley is popular across all demographics, but her gimmick especially lends itself to the support of young girls and children in general.That is a huge portion of WWE's fanbase, and the potential is there for Bayley to become one of the most beloved performers on the main roster in the near future.There is always some level of concern when a top star gets called up because of booking inconsistencies, but Bayley figures to make the most of whatever she is given and have plenty of fun while doing it.
