Aldon Smith's Periscope Account Includes Smoking Video Titled 'Fire Up Session

Oakland Raiders outside linebacker Aldon Smith allegedly released a video on Periscopeearlier in Julyof himself smoking, saying his own name at the end of the video entitled "Fire up session."The video can be seen below (Warning: content NSFW).Smith has posted several videos on Periscope under an account entitledravenga, usingthe name Ricky," according to CSN Bay Area. He is currently serving a year-long suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.After a series of legal issues, Smith's future in the NFL is uncertain. He can apply for reinstatement to the NFL 60 days before his suspension comes to an end in November. But any violation of the league's policy would likely result in that application for reinstatement being denied, at least initially.According to the NFL's substance-abuse policy (h/t CSN Bay Area), Smith's application must include information pertaining to his:(a) Treatment; (b) Abstinence from Substances of Abuse throughout the entire period of his banishment; (c) Involvement with any Substances of Abuse related incidents; and (d) Arrests and/or convictions for any criminal activity, including Substances of Abuse-related offense.Smith, 26, has been one of the NFL's most dominant pass-rushers when he's been able to avoid legal troubles. He's posted 180 tackles and 47.5 sacks in 59 career games, an impressive pace that included 14.0 sacks in his rookie season in 2011 and 19.5 sacks the following year.For Oakland last season, he notched 28 tackles and 3.5 sacks in nine games.But his off-field concerns have been prevalent. He spentone monthin a treatment center for substance abuse in 2013 and was suspended for nine games during the 2014 season after hepleaded no contestto possessing an illegal assault weapon; he also pleaded no contest in a 2013 DUI arrest.InApril 2014, he was arrestedat Los Angeles International Airport for being uncooperative during a TSA screening and telling an agent he had a bomb, though no charges were ever filed.His current year-long suspension came after Smithpleaded not guiltytomisdemeanor hit-and-run, drunken driving and vandalism charges in September 2015.
