Arsenal Transfer News: Jack Wilshere to Choose Between Palace, Bournemouth Loan

Published by Bleacher Report on Wed, 31 Aug 2016

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere will reportedly make a deadline-day decision on where his immediate future lies, with Premier League outfits Crystal Palace and Bournemouth favourites to sign the player on loan.Sky Sports News HQ reported as such on Wednesday, with the England international expected to leave it until the last hour to decide where he'll spend the 2016-17 campaign:TheDaily Mail's Sami Mokbel reported no fewer than 22 clubs enquired about Wilshere after it was reported he'd be made available on a season-long deal.TheMirror's John Cross spoke of the potential advantages a move to Selhurst Park would yield before noting the race to acquire Wilshere's loan loyalties is set to continue for some time:Gunners manager Arsene Wenger appears to have lost some faith in the midfielder after he managed to make just two appearances for Arsenal last season following the latest in a series of recurring injuries.Arsenal fans might prepare for a drawn-out saga on Wednesday, however, after Sky Sports reporter Bryan Swanson suggested Wilshere's move is far from simple just yet:Any team that agrees to loan Wilshere knows the risk they're taking, considering he's struggled to piece together any consistent period at full fitness with the north Londoners. That being said, the jostle to secure his loyalties for the season has been fierce, andMetro's Portuguese football expert Jan Hagen, reported even Primeira Liga clubs were interested:A Premier League switch presents the lowest risk for Wilshere, however, keeping the same familiar environment he's grown up in as one of Arsenal's brightest prospects in recent times. The Englishman is facing a make-or-break junction in his Gunners career, and Palace or Bournemouth look like front-runners to provide Wilshere with a much-needed springboard in his quest to return to the first team.
