Business Process Outsourcing Will Attract Investors To NigeriaShittu

The Minister of Communication , Adebayo Shittu has said developing the Business Process Outsourcing industry in Nigeria was timely and a right step in the right direction to attract local and international investors.Shittu made this assertion at the 4th Nigerian International Outsourcing Conference organised by the Nigerian Association of Information Technology Enabled Outsourcing Companies(NAITEOC) which ended recently in Abuja.He noted that the conference was timely and apt at this time of great need to diversify the economy he added that it was no wonder it had the backing of the Federal Government,Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) among others.The Chairman NAITEOC, David Onu in his address reiterated that the workshop is to create awareness about information technology and Business Process outsourcing industry as a way to diversify the economy,adding that its a sector which is intellectually driven and low in terms of investment of capital and infrastructure.He stressed that the theme for the year is Outsourcing Catalyst for Change in Nigeria to boost economic wealth and job creation which is the reason for creating awareness for the sector.
