2Face, Fans Insist On Protest For Better Life Despite Ban From Security, Critics

Published by Leadership on Sat, 04 Feb 2017

2Face Idibia who rescheduled his planned protest from the 5th February, 2017 against Nigerias Federal Government to 6th has continue to received lash backs from some critics close to the helm of affairs and the #istandwithbuhari group. But that has not dampened his spirit as that of his fans and well wishers who have insisted that no security nor criticism would hinder them from carrying out a peaceful protest especially as this government was also the brain of a peaceful protest before they came to power.2face was recently called out by a professor who challenged his integrity calling him a womaniser adding that he has no moral right to protest. But the reactions that followed the statement prompted the so-called professor to tender an unreserved apology to the music icon who has insisted that come rain come shine, the nationwide protest will go on.According to the official statement, 2Face said that Since the idea of a nationwide march was first mentioned, the need for urgent solutions to the challenges facing Nigerians has become very clear. The people have hoped for a better Nigeria since 1999 but things are not getting any better for the majority. We are still where we arepoor and desperate. I will no longer be quiet. I have dedicated my time and resources to peace building, voters education towards peaceful elections and youth engagement in governance in Nigeria. This time around, my partners, colleagues and I have come together to present a platform for real Nigerians to communicate their real pains to government at all levels in a peaceful and articulate manner with a view to getting lasting solutions to our problems, he explained.Recently the SSA to the president on social media has been castigating 2face since he made his intention known to protest. What followed was her picture which emanated from social media where she belong and her previous demonstration during the President Goodluck Jonathans administration, where she was seen with two other women holding a placard with the inscription #140 per litre, more like 419. This prompted commentators to quiz her why she is scared of a protest from 2Baba.Also his Plantazion Boiz band mate, Blackface also reigned abuses on 2Face calling him names for wanting to protest. It didnt take time for the artiste to be put in his place while other say he is trying to seek for attention as his musical career is nowhere to be found. The #Istandwithbuhari group are ready for a showdown come 6th of February, because it seems , 2Face and those behind him are not ready to back out.The post 2Face, Fans Insist On Protest For Better Life Despite Ban From Security, Critics appeared first on Nigerian News from Leadership News.
