Soldiers won't stage coup, says DHQ

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has allayed fears of a coup d'etat in the country, assuring that its men won't disrupt the democratic process. The assurance is coming days after the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, raised the alarm that some unnamed politicians were approaching military officials for undisclosed reasons.
