The 2017 ACC Baseball Tournament continues Friday with four games that will end pool play and set up the two semifinal matchups.Duke has already locked up a spot in the semifinals after victories over Clemson and Virginia to win Pool D. Three head-to-head games Friday, including top-seeded Louisville against Florida State, carry huge stakes for six teams with dreams of a conference tournament title and an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament.2017 ACC Tournament ResultsGame 9:No. 6 Miami def. Miami finally got to Wake Forest starter Parker Dunshee in the seventh when Edgar Michelangeli launched a solo home run.It all fell apart for Wake Forest after Dunshee left the game. Griffin Roberts took over to start the eighth inning and allowed four runs on four walks and three hits in 1.2 innings, giving Miami a 5-2 lead.Three Miami relievers shut down Wake Forest's lineup. Gregory Veliz, Cooper Hammond and Andrew Cabezas combined for four innings of two-hit relief, though Veliz worked around seven walks in his 2.1 innings. The Hurricanes are now two wins away from capturing their second ACC tournament title in program history and first since 2008.Virginia 10, Clemson 2Virginia lit up Clemson starter Pat Krall with six hits and six runs before an out was recorded en route to a 10-2 victory. The Cavaliers scored eight of their 10 runs in the first inning. Cameron Simmons had the big blast, a three-run homer that knocked Krall out of the game.Per Andrew Ramspacher of the Daily Progress, Krall's six runs allowed were the most he's given up in his Clemson career. After allowing one run in the first inning, Virginia starter Daniel Lynch settled in thanks to his early run support. The left-hander scattered five hits over seven innings to earn the win.The win allows Virginia to leave the ACC tournament on a high note. The Cavaliers finished second in Pool D, behind Duke, and will await their destination for the NCAA tournament when the brackets are announced Monday.Florida State 6, Louisville 2The Seminoles continued their dominance over the Cardinals this season during Friday's Pool A game, as FSU emerged with a 6-2 victory to advance to the ACC tournament semifinals. The win marked Florida State's third of the year over Louisville and knocked the No. 1 seed out of the tourney.FSU starter Tyler Holton stifled the Cardinals, as he pitched eight scoreless innings, allowing just four hits, one walk and one earned run, while striking out 10.The top of Florida State's batting order made the biggest difference from an offensive perspective with Taylor Walls, Dylan Busby and Jackson Lueck all scratching out two hits apiece.Leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth, the 'Noles took control when Matt Henderson hit a two-run double to stretch the lead to 4-1.Brendan McKay hit a solo home run off Holton in the bottom of the sixth to shrink the deficit to 4-2, but Florida State put it away in the ninth when it tacked on two insurance runs in the form of a two-run double by Lueck.By virtue of Friday's win, Florida State will go on to face Duke in the semis Saturday with a spot in the championship game on the line. North Carolina 12, North Carolina State 4In a game that was virtually over from the very beginning, North Carolina earned a blowout win over rival North Carolina State.Brian Miller kicked things off for the Tar Heels with a lead-off home run in the bottom of the first inning. This was the start of what became a 10-run frame, featuring nine hits and three different North Carolina State pitchers.A dropped foul ball with two outs could have ended things with just two runs in, but instead eight unearned runs helped blow open the game in the first inning.North Carolina State fought hard from there, scoring four runs to keep things competitive. Josh McLain came through with a home run and two RBI for the Wolfpack. However, this barely made a dent as UNC never allowed the game to be close. Brandon Riley had three RBI in the win while Tyler Lynn went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.J.B. Bukauskas allowed three runs in seven innings to earn the win.The Tar Heels now advance to the semifinals to take on Miami in the second game Saturday.
