4-Star RB Mychale Salahuddin Commits to USC over Maryland, Ohio and Toledo

USC bolstered its backfield Monday, as 4-star running backMychale Salahuddin committed to the Trojans.The Washington, D.C., product, who stands at 5'11" and 200 pounds, is considered the No. 13 running back in the class of 2018 and the No. 231 player overall, according to Scout.com.Brian Dohnof Scout.com provided the following analysis onSalahuddin:Salahuddin grew a few inches since the summer and it did wonders for him out of his junior season. He can cut at a high rate of speed, and he hits the hole hard. He gets through it quickly and is at top speed within a few steps. Salahuddin has very good acceleration, and he possesses enough wiggle to get past the second level. He runs with balance, and his vision is good. He is also a pass catcher out of the backfield. An interesting aspect if Salahuddin has the ability to play safety. He is willing to come up and hit in the running game, and he has closing speed to impact the passing game.That versatility should aid him at USC, which has continued to put together a strong recruiting class. The Trojans currently have the No. 9 2018 group, perScout, which includes 5-star outside linebackerPalaie Gaoteoteand seven 4-star talents overall.WhileSalahuddin won't be expected to see major playing time early, he should provide the Trojans with solid depth.
