4-Star DE Prospect Adam Anderson Decommits from LSU

Adam Anderson, a4-star defensive end prospect, announced he has retracted his verbal commitment to LSU and reopened his recruitment Thursday on Twitter: Anderson, aRome High School product,is ranked as the No. 76 overall player, the ninth-rated defensive end in the Class of 2018 and the second-best defensive end in Georgia.He, Ja'Quon Griffin and Jamarcus Chatman, who all star for Rome, committed to LSU in April. Anderson was previously committed to Georgia, and the Bulldogs could wind up working their way back into the picture.Griffin is the only one of the three who remains committed to LSU. Chatman, a touted defensive tackle, flipped to Tennessee in June.Anderson cites his late sister, who died of unknown causes, as his motivation."I didnt start thinking about being a college football player until my freshman year when my sister told me to keep working at it," Anderson said, perJeff Sentellof Dawg Nation. "She told me to keep working and working hard. She was a major spark and motivator in me getting started in football."She would try to keep me motivated and keep me excited. I remember her putting a helmet on and her telling me 'Lets go' whenever I needed to hear it."Anderson is listed at 6'5" and 220 pounds, meaning he'll have to add bulk in order to play defensive end at the next level. If not, he'll likely fit in as a pass-rushing outside linebacker.
