BIG3 League Basketball 2017 Results: Allen Iverson Coaches vs. Dr. J in Philly

Fans in Philadelphia didn't exactly get what they wanted from Week 4 of the Big3, but those in the Wells Fargo Center still got plenty of local flavor.Allen Iverson didn't play due to an injury, but he and Julius Erving did battle from the sidelines as coaches.Dr. J's Tri-State earned the win overIverson's 3's Company, whilePhiladelphia native Cuttino Mobley also came up big on the court to make it another solid day of action for the three-on-three league.Iverson announced his decision not to play in a video on Instagram before the games started, apologizing to his hometown fans:Still, there was plenty of excitement when he stepped onto the floor for the first time:While his star power remains high, his coaching needs work as 3's Company couldn't keep up without him.Jermaine O'Neal led the way in a Tri-State win, the team's first of the season.The day started with a blowout win in Game 1 for Power, which earned a 51-29 victory over the Ghost Ballers.The Big3 account described an interesting one-on-one battle:However, it was Mobley who really did the most damage with a game-high 20 points. Annie Apple enjoyed the show:DeShawn Stevenson had 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting from three-point range, while Jerome Williams finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Mike Bibby had just 11 points and four assists in the loss.The second game featured a quality performance by Rashad McCants to help Trilogy stay undefeated through four weeks. The latest victory came against Brian Scalabrine's Ball Hogs.McCants was asked before the game whether he was hoping this would be a stepping stone back to the NBA, but he responded, "Not necessarily," perAlex Kennedyof Hoops Hype."I've been looking for an opportunity to showcase my ability on a national scale, on national television," he added. "This is more of an opportunity to let the fans know we can still play, especially for me."Regardless of his intentions, his level of play has been solid.Rashard Lewis then put on a show in the third game of the day between the 3 Headed Monsters and the Killer 3's. Lewis scored 30 points to lead the 3 Headed Monsters to a 51-46 victory, shooting 11-of-22 to go with 10 rebounds.This all led to the highly anticipated battle between Iverson and Erving, resulting in a win for the older of the two Philadelphia legends.The Big3 will continue next week with games in Chicago at the UIC Pavilion, beginning at 2 p.m. ET.
