4-Star SF Prospect Saddiq Bey Commits to NC State over Xavier, Miami

North Carolina State picked up a commitment Thursdayfrom small forward Saddiq Bey, one of the fastest-rising players in the 2018 recruiting class.Brian Snow of Scout.comconfirmed the coveted wing's choice of the Wolfpack.Bey is a 4-star prospect who checks in as the No. 83 overall recruit in the 2018 class, according to the 247 Sportscomposite rankings. He's also graded as the No. 19 small forward among the group and the second-best player at the position from Washington, D.C.Although it took awhile for the Sidwell Friends School standout to start receiving national attention, he's shown he belongs in the same conversation as the class' top players. He's a well-rounded scorer who's explosive in the open floor and a budding force at the defensive end.The versatile playmaker from the nation's capital doesn't forget the hard work it took to push himself into the recruiting consciousnesses of top-end programs, though. In fact, he told Pat Lawless of Made Hoops in June he uses it as motivation on the floor."I go into every game like I have a chip on my shoulder," Bey said. "I'm humbled and hungry by everything that has happened."Dee Watts of Dynamic Scoop Hoops is bullish on the forward's future:Bey could benefit from becoming a more polished distributor, which would make him more dangerous when attacking the rim, and his outside shot could use more consistency. One more growth spurt would also help in terms of locking the 6'7'' wing into a prototypical small forward frame.In the end, it's hard not to like this addition by Kevin Keatsand the Wolfpack.
