2015: Ona-Ara LG youths protest imposition in Oyo PDP

A group under the aegis of Ona-Ara Patriotic Youth Movement has kicked against an attempt to impose an aspirant for the House of Assembly in Ona-Ara Local Government by the Minister of State for the FCT, Chief Jumoke Akinjide, warning her not to 'forcefully install a non-indigene of Ona-Ara to occupy what rightly belongs to bonafide indigenes of the local government.'But the minister's aide, Alhaji Isiaka Kehinde, when contacted, said the minister would not join issues with faceless people, noting that it would be not be dignifying to respond to baseless and unfounded insinuations 'which may even be coming from the opposition circles.'In a statement signed by its chairman and secretary, Hon. B.O. Olatunde and Mr. Seyi Olorunferanmi, respectively, the group warned the minister against trying to install any aspirant without a primary election meant to test aspirants' acceptability, saying that the neglect suffered by the local government was due to godfatherism, greed and lack of political will.It challenged past and present office holders in the local government to defend their poor performance in human and infrastructural development.
