This will not work, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday.Lavrov stressed that the West, particularly the United States, understands perfectly well that seriously discussing security issues without the Russian Federation is a utopia; its a road to nowhere.The comments came two days after Trump hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders at the White House, and shortly after Trumps meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.Trump is seeking to push Putin and Zelenskyy toward a settlement more than three years after Russia invaded Ukraine, but deep divisions remain.Lavrov said any summit between Putin and Zelenskyy must be prepared in the most meticulous way to avoid worsening the conflict.
