Police uncover explosive devices, arms and ammunition in Kaduna scrap depot

<img src="https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/photos/shares/cover4_1754566427.png">The Kaduna State Police Command has discovered explosive devices and recovered a locally-made pistol, along with 21 rounds of ammunition and other high-calibre weapon ammunition in the state.The spokesperson of the command, DSP Mansir Hassan disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.Hassan said the operation took place last Friday following credible intelligence about suspicious items suspected to be Unexploded Ordnances (UXOs) at a scavenger company in the Kudandan Industrial Area, located within Kaduna South Local Government Area.He said the suspicious items were reportedly found among waste materials recently brought in from Borno State.During investigation, additional items were recovered, including a locally fabricated revolver pistol loaded with six rounds of ammunition, 15 rounds of 7.2mm live ammunition, three live cartridges, and other assorted ammunition.Muhammad Rabiu, Commissioner of Police ordered the premises to be sealed off to allow for a comprehensive investigation of the facility by the EOD unit, ensuring no other explosive devices are kept.Rabiu reaffirmed the Commands dedication to maintaining law and order and urged members of the public to continue providing timely and useful information to support efforts in crime prevention and public safety.The CP also directed all scavenger companies and depots across the state to immediately cease receiving materials from crisis-affected areas, particularly the North-East<img src="https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/photos/shares/kad_1754566398.jpg">The post <a href="http://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2025/8/police-uncover-explosive-devices-arms-and-ammunition-in-kaduna-scrap-depot-2.html">Police uncover explosive devices, arms and ammunition in Kaduna scrap depot</a> appeared first on <a href="https://www.lindaikejisblog.com">Linda Ikeji Blog</a>.
