While the exact sale price hasnt been disclosed, Alex confirmed hes already planning investments and is eyeing a Lamborghini. Its not super important to me, he told The Seattle Times. I just kind of wanted to get the most money out of it.Alex created Taco vs. Burrito on a whim during family game nights. Ironically, he didnt even like tacos or burritos at the time but was inspired by games like Exploding Kittens. With support from his parents, Leslie Pierson and Mark Butler, he began testing prototypes at local coffee shops and quickly gained traction.Pierson, a self-described serial entrepreneur who appeared on Shark Tank in 2016 for another project, launched a crowdfunding campaign that raised $25,000 well beyond their initial expectations. From there, the family founded Hot Taco Inc., with Alex holding majority ownership. After launching on Amazon with around $30,000 in inventory, the game exploded raking in nearly $1.1 million in its first year.To date, Taco vs. Burrito has sold over 1.5 million copies and became Amazons No. 1 bestselling game. It has since spawned two expansion packs.Eventually, the family realized they had outgrown their capacity to manage the games growing popularity. Thats when they turned to PlayMonster. We had many offers over the years, Pierson said, but PlayMonster had the right vision.Jonathan Berkowitz, CEO of PlayMonster, said he was stunned to learn that the game was created by a child. The characters are amazing, the competition is fun for all ages and its rare for a kid to beat their parents in a game the parents still enjoy playing. As for Alex, hes now balancing his newfound wealth with typical teenage dreams. I just want to invest and maybe buy a Lambo, he said. The post Teen boy to buy a Lamborghiniafter a simple card game he invented atage 7 turns him into a millionaire appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
