Saraki's former aide emerges Kwara PDP deputy governorship candidate

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has picked former security adviser to immediate past governor of the state, Senator Bukola Saraki, Hon. Yinka Aluko, as deputy governorship candidate of the party for 2015 governorship election.Speaking with journalists in Ilorin on Saturday, the PDP governorship candidate, Senator Simeon Sule Ajibola, said that emergence of his running mate was divine just like his.The PDP governorship candidate, who commended other aspirants for conceding the position to him, said that he was not the best among the contestants but his emergence was the wish of God Almighty.'The victory at the primaries is not only for me; but is for all of us who decided or dared to put ourselves forward for public service in our effort to rescue Kwara.'I hereby plead with you all to put personal interests aside; respect the decision of the delegates and above all, remind ourselves all our pledges and promises to work together for the success of the party', he said.Also speaking, the deputy governorship candidate, Hon. Yinka Aluko, equally accepted the position promising to be loyal to the candidate.The PDP Chairman, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo, said that the party had come out with a candidate that was not imposed, despite the crisis that followed the governorship primaries.Aspirants like Professor Oba Abdulraheem, John Dara and Kale Belgore attended the briefing.Prof. Oba said that contrary to the speculation that the multiple aspirants would divide the party, the party was now united.
