Dickson picks Bayelsa PDP governorship ticket

DESPITE last Wednesday's court injunction restraining it from going ahead with its governorship primaries in Bayelsa State, in a suit filed by Governor Timipre Sylva, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held the election in Yeanagoa, the state capital, yesterday.A member representing Sagabama/Ekeremor Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Seriake Henry Dickson, won the primaries to pick the party's flag for the governorship election coming up on February 11, 2012.But, Sylva and his camp boycotted the primaries. While speaking to our correspondent, a member of Sylva's camp and Speaker of the House of Assembly, Nestor Binabo, said there was no ward congress to elect candidates that would have voted for governorship aspirant in the state.
