Olympics qualifier: Parma releases Obiorah

ITALIAN Serie A side, AC Parma have released midfielder, Obiora Nwankwo ahead of this month's Caf under 23 football championships in Morocco.Coach of the Nigeria team, Austin Eguavoen had pleaded with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to ensure the European clubs of his top stars release the players for the competition.His wishes seem to have been obliged as the Parma man on Saturday evening arrived in Morocco to the delight of Eguavoen and the rest of the players.'I have confidence in my players to get a ticket for the Olympics,' Eguavoen told SuperSport.com.'If all the players we are expecting turn up in Morocco, then the job (of qualifying Nigeria for the 2012 Olympic games) is already fifty percent done,' Eguavoen said.Meanwhile, Kryvbas (Ukraine) midfielder, Babatunde Michael is expected to join the team in Morocco on Sunday evening.Nigeria has been pitted against Senegal, Algeria and the hosts, Morocco in group A of the championships.
