Team Ebonyi sparkles, wins gold in match past

ITS contingent may not be as large as others, but its beautiful display as well as its sparkling attire during the march past earned Team Ebonyi the first gold medal of the on-going National School Sports Festival, tagged Calabar 2011.Ebonyi was adjudged the best team during the opening ceremony, as they manifested all the qualities required by the judges to award them the most outstanding in the match past.Qualities like creativity, uniformity and coordination Team Ebonyi had in abundance as it thrilled the fans, including Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke.According to the judges, the team deserved accolades for its performance during the match past, as it showed its dexterity with its coordinated procession during the opening ceremony.Team Adamawa claimed silver in the match past following its 'extraordinary' display, while Team Ondo with its brilliant outing, picked bronze in the event.'I think all the states put up a good show because they dressed neatly and were all organized. This is a plus to all the states and we hope this will continue to improve in subsequent championships,' one of the judges told The Guardian.
