Can Jonathan restore the credibility of the NationalAwards

The once glamorous National Honours Award is now a shadow of itself. Our State House correspondent, AKEEM OYETUNJI witnessed this year's ceremony at the International Conference Centre,Abuja and reports on the concerns raised about the selection process. IN 1964, the Federal Government via Act No. 5 established the National Honours Award which empowers the President to establish by Warrant the Nigerian Order of Dignity to honour Nigerian citizens and residents who have contributed immensely to the development of their communities, states and the growth of the nation in any field of human endeavour.
