Mosfala residents decry bad roads in community

Motorists plying Mosfala Odinjo road in Ibadan are not happy with the bad condition of the road network in the two communities and they have, therefore, tasked the authority of Oluyole Local Government Area Council in Oyo State to help fix the road.The residents of Mosfala who called the attention of Community News to state their problems, said many vehicles owners in the area would not wish to go out with their vehicles as the bad road is capable of causing a serious damage to their vehicles.For Bolade Ogunsesin, a Toyota Camry owner who resided in the community, he explained that the roads in the area had not experienced any maintenance in the last six year, adding that this was one of the reasons they had gone so bad apart from the fact that flood contributed to damage.His words, ' it is true that flood contributed to the deterioration of roads in Mosfala and Odinjo communities, but we should tell ourselves the naked truth. The fact is that the road has been neglected and unmaintained for years without proper drainages on it. The only narrow gutter besides the road has been blocked with refuse and garbages, so there is no oppurtunity for free flow of both rain and waste water. Consequently, all the waste water often converge in the middle of the road, thus neccessitating many potholes on the road which also activated all the deep gullies you are seeing in the middle of the road', Ogunsesin lamented.Some house owners in the area like Deacon Bayo Fadahunsi and Mr Goke Ogundipe, explained that the Oluyole Local Government Council who supposed to be in charge of the two communities had not lived up to its expectations, 'as the council had not given us any developmental project and essential facilities in recent times,' stated Deacon Fadahunsi.For Mr Ogundipe, he accused the state government of total neglect of the area, stressing that, 'it seems the state government doesn't like the community and the dwellers. I'm forced to say this because there is nothing you can actually point at in this community to indicate the presence of the state government in Mosfala, Odinjo and other neighbouring communities. Honestly, we lack good things in this community apart from good road network,' he stated.Other residents of Odinjo and Mosfala, however, tasked Governor Abiola Ajimobi to listen to their plight and help find a lasting solution to their plight, saying they voted massively for him during the last general elections.
