Winner of U-12 football event for Milo African Championship in Ghana

TO give every state equal opportunity to represent Nigeria at the Milo Under-13 African Championship next year, winner in the boys' Under-12football event at the ongoing National School Sports Festival, tagged Calabar 2011, will hoist the country's flag at the continental tournament.The Nigerian flag bearer will join other teams from the continent come April 9 to 14 in Accra, Ghana after the success of the maiden edition held in South Africa in 2009.Nigeria's Asegun Secondary School, Ibadan, won the maiden edition in South Africa.According to Nestle Nigeria Plc, the competition is meant to empower the students with football knowledge as well as imbibing positivevalues like teamwork, discipline, confidence and determination in actualizing their dreams in life.It is also aimed at empowering the students on the nutrition and healthy lifestyles they need to adopt as sportsmen.The competition is part of the company's commitment to grassroots sports development in Nigeria, as it has been bankrolling the yearlyMilo Secondary School Basketball Championship for more than a decade.
