Nationwide strike by PENGASSAN looms

A major fuel scarcity is looming in the country as members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) may down tool soon nationwide.This follows the suspension of the Petroleum Equalization Fund (PEF) branch chairman of the association, Mr. Mohammed Gambo for six months without pay by the Mrs Sharon Kasali-led management. Gambo had led his members to press for better working conditions and regular promotion of workers, among others before he was axed by management. Piqued by what it considers an attempt to muzzle the branch union, workers of PEF have embarked on a strike action since last week Thursday on the directives of PENGASSAN' national body.
