Scot McCloughan Named Redskins GM: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction

The Washington Redskins' desired return to prominence took a potentially huge leap forward Tuesday as the organization agreed to terms with respected executive Scot McCloughan.According to NFL Network's Albert Breer, the former Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers personnel man will become Washington's new general manager:NFL Network's Ian Rapoport praised the hire and reported terms of the deal as well:In the end, the Redskins managed to secure McCloughan despite other organizations showing interest, according to Breer:McCloughan's hiring means incumbent general manager Bruce Allen will be reassigned to the role of team president, per NFL.com's Michael Silver:The Redskins have gone a combined 7-25 over the past two seasons, but they reached the playoffs as recently as 2012.
