ACN moves to pacify members

Leaders of the Action Congress of Nigeria in Ekiti State have begun moves to pacify aggrieved members, who had alleged imposition of candidates as the state prepares for the local government election scheduled to hold on January 21.The Chairman of the ACN in Ise-Orun Local Government Area of the state, Mr. Joseph Alabi, said this in an interview with journalists in Ise-Ekiti on Tuesday.Alabi said the leadership of the party at the state level had started talking to aggrieved members in order to ensure that the party remained intact, despite the crisis which followed the emergence of candidates in some local government areas.Earlier, some members of the ruling party in the 10 wards in Ise-Orun Local Government Area had staged a protest to register their displeasure over what they described as imposition of Mr. Femi Ajayi as the chairmanship candidate of the party in the area.The protesters, who were armed with placards, included youths, old men and women.
