NIGERIAN born Universal Promotional Wrestling Federation (UPWF) World Heavyweight Champion, Offor Osita,also known as De Ultimate Commander, has charged Nigerian youths to use their natural talents for the development of the country, instead of indulging in vices.Speaking over the weekend during his visit to Destiny Child Centre, Calabar, De Commander disclosed thathe had been using his talent to promote the Nigerian re-branding initiative globally, adding that the same was expected of the kids at the centre and Nigeria.Destiny Child Centre accommodates more than 106 childrenThe champion, who donated various food items to the children, used the opportunity to urge the officials of the centre to introduce wrestling side-by-side with other academic activities in the curricular.He revealed that he arrived Calabar on Friday night ahead of preparations for the UPWF championship billed for Calabar Dec. 11 and Dec. 19.According to Commander, 'Calabar, the destination of Champions,'' would feature 23 world wrestling superstars from Canada, USAand other parts of the world,including the legendary Hulk Hogan.Revealing that he had been using his talents to create awareness for the support of President Goodluck Jonathan's transformation agenda for good governance, rule of law and anti-corruption crusade, Commander added: 'I willalso use wrestling as a platform and medium for arousing the interest of the youths' to create employment opportunities for themselves.'I am determined to make the event an annual vehicle of strategic campaign against youth related vices, such as religious and ethnic militancy, religious intolerance, unemployment and other problems.''He also told the kids at the DCC, founded by the wife of the Cross River State Governor, Obioma Imoke, that, ``I feel jealous of you because I never had the first lady of a state as my mother; but you do.'She has given you a career already, she brought you together to discover yourselves, to be leaders and become greater than even De ultimate Commander.'This project also inspired me to care for and help the needy. I have found a role model in the first lady of Cross River.'Speaking at the event, Mrs. Imoke expressed happiness at the wrestling champion's gesture and informed Commander 'these children are really special children with the sky as their limit. Several of the kids are gifted, some of them have parents but prefer to stay here, some like sports.'Earlier, the DCC Director, Patricia Endeley, said there were 106 children at the rehabilitation centre and that 19 of them have been placed in skills acquisition centres, while others are in regular schools.
