SUPER Eagles former midfielder, Moses Kpakor, says he may be forced to consider legal action against the management of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi after exhausting 'all democratic means' of getting his 37-month salary arrears. Before heading to court, Kpakor said yesterday in Lagos that he would take his 'last democratic step' by dragging the club's management before the Benue State House of Assembly Complains Commission. For the past few months, Kpakor had been having a running battle with the management of Lobi Stars, particularly the Vice Chairman, Dominic Iorfa, over what he termed as 'deliberate wickedness' on the part of Iorfa to wreck his life.Addressing sports journalists in Lagos yesterday, Kpakor claimed that he was owed 37 months' salaries by the club management at N300, 000 per month since August 2008, alleging that Iorfa was the brain behind his travail. He said: 'I was appointed Team Manager of Lobi Stars in 2007 by the state government. I was given an official car, which Iorfa later took from me forcefully with the help of the police. Since August 2008, I have not been paid despite assurances from the club and state government that my salary had been paid to Iorfa,'To buttress his claim, Kpakor showed a letter issued by the management of Lobi Stars and signed by its secretary, F.E. Ijiga, dated November 11, 2008. In the letter with reference No. LS/FC/OFF/19/VOL.1/99, it was stated: 'I am directed to refer to your letter dated November 6, 2008 on the above subject matter and to inform you that your salaries for August, September, October and November 2008 will be paid at the end of this month.'Subsequently, your salaries will continue to be paid at the end of every month until the end of your course. The management wishes you the best of luck in your educational/professional pursuit.'According to Kpakor, the club's vice chairman, Iorfa, in his 'usual habit of frustrating other Benue State-born ex-footballers from the club,' has been the obstacle on payment of his salaries, adding that all entreaties to the state governor, Gabriel Suswam, on the issue had been futile. He added: 'I have been boxed to a corner and I may have to consider a legal action against the club management. I have been quiet for three years now. But as a good citizen of Benue State, I will take the management of the club to the State House of Assembly Complains Commission any time from now. If they failed to resolve the matter, then I will have no other option than to seek legal action.'It would be recalled that the club chairman, Iorfa, had alleged during the week that Kpakor was crying wolf where there was none, saying that he (Iorfa) had single-handedly rescued Kpakor financially on several occasions in the past.
