Enterprise Bank mourns Alex Ibru

MORE corporate organisations have continued to share with The Guardian Newspapers this moment of grief over the death of its publisher, Mr. Alex Ibru.Enterprise Bank, in its condolence message signed by its Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Ahmed Kuru, said it shared this moment of sorrow with The Guardian and prayed God to shine His perpetual light upon Alex Ibru's soul.Also, in a statement, TPT International Limited said: 'We write to extend our deepest sympathies to you, all members of staff of The Guardian and the immediate family of Chief Alex Uruemu Ibru, who passed on a few days ago.'We are so sad about his death; he was such a wonderful man, a great patriot, astute businessman and a quintessential publisher. Although he was not a journalist, he made his mark in the profession by giving professionals the free hand to do their jobs. The industry will truly miss him'.The bank's statement read: 'With a deep sense of sorrow, I wish to, on behalf of the management and staff of Enterprise Bank Limited, express my sincere sympathy to The Guardian over the passing on of its publisher, Alexander Uruemu Ibru, which sad incident occurred on Sunday, November 20, 2011.'Painful as it is, we are however, comforted by the good life and achievements of Ibru, who nurtured The Guardian to become one of the most respected newspapers in the country. He was also a Minister of Internal Affairs, Chairman of Trinity Foundation, a philanthropic organisation he used to help the less-privileged in the society, as well as the Ibru Centre, which promotes ecumenism and religious harmony, among others.It continued: 'Our prayer is that the Almighty God will shine His perpetual light upon the soul of Ibru and grant The Guardian and the immediate family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
