Nigerians won't take excuses 'Gara Gombe warns Eguavoen

FOOTBALL adminstrator cum critic, Alhaji Gara Gombe says National U-23 team coach, Austin Eguavoen is already conceding defeat even before his team begins the campaign for a place at the London 2012 Olympics.Cerezo, as the former Super Eagles defender is fondly called, disclosed that the Moroccans were working against his side, just as he also expressed fears that the weather might not do the team any good.Above all, Eguavoen rued the failure of foreign based clubs to release the country's players for the Olympics qualifiers, stating that the development will make things difficult for the team.However, Gombe in reacting to the coach statement, hinted that the words of Eguavoen were a sign that he had already given up hope.He was particular about the coach's lamentation on the non availability of some players arguing that he should have envisaged this and planned to make use of players at his disposals for the tourney.'Eguavoen has no excuse, he should have prepared his mind for what is happening. He has a pool of players to select from and he should have done this without depending on the foreign based players.
