EFCC: How telephone call failed to save Waziri

AT 12:15 a.m. yesterday, former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mrs. Farida Waziri, placed a call to President Goodluck Jonathan at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.The call was sequel to an information she received a few minutes before that she would be sacked within 24 hours. A senior presidential aide picked the call and told her that the President was busy. She begged the aide to help persuade Jonathan to save her job or, if that is not possible, give her a few more weeks in office.
