Balarabe Musa to EFCC: Arrest Obasanjo now

Former Governor of old Kaduna State and Chairman of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP), Alhaji Balarabe Musa, said yesterday that unless former President Olusegun Obasanjo is arrested and prosecuted for corruptly enriching himself while in office between 1999 to 2007, the fight against corruption in the country by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) would be 'a mere rhetoric'.The EFCC Chairman, Mrs. Farida Waziri, was sacked yesterday by President Goodluck Jonathan. Ibrahim Lamorde, a police officer, will oversee the anti-graft agency in an acting capacity pending the time a substantive head will be appointed.Musa, who noted that Nigerians were being deceived by the series of arrests of politicians by the EFCC, added that if the anti-graft body really want Nigerians to have faith in the fight against corruption, 'Obasanjo must be made to face the full weight of the law of the land because he was corrupt while in office'.
