NECA on planning

The Director-General, Nigerian Employers Consultative Association, Mr. Olusegun Oshinowo, has said the country cannot have a proper plan for national development without adequate data.He said, The issue is the Nigerian approach. Surprisingly, the Nigerian government do have articulated plans for job creation, which unfortunately is not yielding results.This is so because Nigeria is structurally deficient in data collection and it is difficult to put a number to issues like these.According to him, in the United States, the Department of Labour is in charge of socio-economic issues as well as employment.
