Senate confirms interference in BPE probe

FEARS of interference by influential Nigerians over the probe of the activities of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) was yesterday confirmed by the Senate President, David Mark as he raised the alarm over pressure on the Senate over the probe.The ad-hoc committee probing the BPE, chaired by Senator Ahmed Lawan on Tuesday submitted its report to the Senate.But during the Wednesday plenary, the Senate President said the chamber would commence consideration of the report yesterday, but could not do so even after Lawan formally read the report to Senators at plenary.
