Cleric Extols Akiolu's Virtues

THE Chief Imam of Gbagura, Abeokuta Central Mosque, Alhaji Shehu Biobaku, has described Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos as a fearless monarch who stands on the side of the truth at all times.The chief imam spoke at a special jumat service to mark the sixth coronation anniversary of Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo held at Abeokuta Central Mosque, Kobiti, Ogun State, recently.He recalled that his first encounter with Oba Akiolu was an occasion in former president Olusegun Obasanjo's house and that while delivering a speech, Oba Akiolu advised the former president to find a way and make up with former vice president Atiku Abubakar.He described Oba Akiolu and Oba Gbadebo as two of a kind, noting that just as Lagos has witnessed tremendous development during the reign of Akiolu, so also has Abeokuta during Gbadebo's tenure.In a short response, Oba Akiolu said he remembered vividly the encounter with the former president adding that it has been his character from his youthful days.
