Nigeria fuel subsidy disrupting reforms

A row over the planned removal of fuel subsidies popular with Nigerians is set to disrupt wider reforms to Africa's second-largest economy, ranging from privatising its dilapidated power sector to getting next year's budget ready on time. President Goodluck Jonathan won an election in April that was hailed by international observers as the fairest Africa's most populous nation had held in decades, raising economic optimism among foreign investors and many Nigerians.
