TFC, Mama Cass, Others Win Hospitality Awards

TASTEE Fried Chicken (TFC), a popular eatery, has for the second successive year won the 2011 Platinum Award in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) category at the recently held West Africa Tourism and Hospitality Awards (WATHA).The event was held at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra Ghana.The maiden edition of the WATHA Awards, which was held in 2010 was also won by TFC. The 2011 edition thus makes it the second Platinum award to be won by the firm.Mama Cass who came second with a Gold recognition while Sweet Sensation emerged third with a Silver recognition. They emerged winners of the category that had 10 nominees.Also, Hotel Support and Management Company Limited (HSMC) was declared the Best Management Firm (Indigenous Brand) in West Africa. The firm won the same award in 2010.The award is one of the most prestigious kinds in West African hospitality market and it is awarded based on audited votes submitted by critics and clients of hospitality firms from different parts of the world.President of WATHA, Mr. Adedayo Adesugba, said the awards aimed at recognising and encouraging excellence in the West Africa tourism and hospitality industry.'WATHA Awards annually recognises and rewards real superior services in the region; encourages higher standards and applaud exceptional effort made by industry members and stimulates a fairly competitive spirit so as to galvanize industry members to reach higher levels of brilliance within the West African region.It also motivates teamwork and greater cooperation amongst various segments in the industry towards providing end users with more value-added service,' Adesugba explained.
