Giving Birth To God's Deposit In You (I)

Published by Guardian on Sun, 27 Nov 2011

THERE are lots of people in this world, even Christians, who go to church, and have nothing to show for the lives they live. For some, the potential in them has not even been discovered, not to speak of being born. There are two major races in the life of man. These will determine whether such a person lived a good or a wasted life. The first race is discovering and fulfilling God-given destiny. On that crucial day when you come face to face with God, you will not be able to say that you did not fulfil your destiny because of this sister or that brother. Adam tried that excuse with God when he blamed Eve for the sin they committed. God did not accept his excuse. On that day, no excuse will be tenable. Failing to fulfil your God-given destiny automatically makes you a failure in life, no matter what else you achieve. God is ready to bring into fulfilment the purpose for which He created all of us. However, we have a part to play because we have to be ready to fulfil that purpose. The second is the race for heaven. No matter the level of achievement a believer attains, no matter what work he does for God here on earth, the greatest reward is to make heaven. Some are very successful on earth; they discover their God-given potential and make a lot of money using the talents deposited in them by God. Unfortunately, because they did not use what they made for the glory of God, even though they were believers, they will end up in hell. It is therefore not enough to win the first race by discovering your God-given destiny and fulfilling it, you must also make heaven at all costs. You can make all the money and build all the houses here on earth. Yet, if you do not make heaven, you are still a failure. The songwriter wrote that the kingdom of God is a reward for Christians. To be successful in these two races require focus. If you are not focused, you cannot succeed. In addition to the deposits that God has placed in you, there are so many blessings He has also placed around you. God wants to bring them out and open your eyes to see so that you can begin to enjoy them. The key to becoming a beneficiary of these blessings is focus. Philippians 3:14 states: 'I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.' Nothing that anyone says or does should distract you; your primary focus should be your goal, which is fulfilling your divine destiny and at the end of the day, making heaven. When you are committed to bringing forth all that God has placed within you, then nothing can stop you. You are ready to put away sentiment, emotions and overlook what people are saying or how they look at you. As a result of this focus, you may have to push aside everything and everyone. If you look at the people who fulfilled their destinies, they were not emotional people. Emotional people will find it difficult to achieve God-given destiny because the world has no other mission but to steal, kill and destroy as is stated in John 10:10.No one has seen Satan physically. He is using people here on earth to make sure that his mission is fulfilled. Who are the people he uses' They may be the people closest to you! For a husband, the first person that Satan will use against you is your wife. And for a wife, it is your husband, followed by others who are close to you.Pastor Seyi Ogunorunyinka is the General Overseer, The Promised Land Ministries, Solution Ground, Surulere, Lagos. pastorseyiogunorunyinka@gmail.com
