Circle of breathless Royal Collection in Lagos

FOLAKE Majin and her clan of designers ' Miss and Gogo ' painted the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, royal last Sunday, as they unveiled their different efforts: The Royal Collection, The Breathless Experience Collection and The Circle Revolution Collection.The show attracted a host of celebrities and high networth guests such as the wife of Lagos State governor, Abimbola Emanuella Fashola; the Iya Oge of Lagos, Oprah Benson; design impresario, Abba Zainab Folawiyo; Betty Irabor; Adora Oleh; Frank Osodi; Debby Ogunjobi and many other heavy weightsSome other guests included Tee A, Seye Kehinde, Tara Fela Durotoye, Funmi Ajila, Adesuwa Oyenokwe, Katung Aduwak, Audu Maikori, Praiz and Tiwa Savage.Tosin Otukedo and O.C Ukeje, who introduced the collections one after the other, anchored the show.OFTEN referred to as 'The designer to the First ladies', Folake's creativity could be seen in The Royal Collection.Over the years, the lady has built a strong and loyal clientele (including several first ladies of Nigeria, television personalities, business women, senators, housewives and beauty queens).In 1988, she launched her Schon Arik label in the then young fashion industry in Nigeria with pieces that instantly caught on with women because they were created to be visually stunning and distinctive while paying painstaking attention to detail.More than two decades later, she has remained in the forefront and a leader in the fashion industry with an ever-growing clientele. She has also inspired and mentored several young designers who have come into their own success learning and gleaning from her vast industry experience.Gogo, designer for GM4FM, whose effort, The Circle Revolution Collection, received very positive response from guests at the event, said, 'inspiration for the collection came from an accessory that has been made and used by my mom for her clients for more than a decade on many of her haute couture designs. I took that accessory and built the whole collection around it.'The lawyer-turned designer, miss, came with The Breathless Experience Collection, which she said, 'is a perfect combination' a combination of moving art and sound.
