Ogun workers give Amosun seven-day ultimatum

Workers in the Ogun State Public Service are again warming up for a fresh showdown with the state government as they have issued a seven-day ultimatum to Governor Ibikunle Amosun to address fundamental issues bordering on their welfare.The workers, under the aegis of Trade Union Side of the Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council, arrived at the decision at the end of a stakeholders' meeting held in Abeokuta, the state capital.Their demands, among others, include the abolition of 300 per cent tax hike, government's refusal to repeal contributory pension reform law, non-payment of outstanding arrears of gratuity to retirees, and non-remittance of outstanding cooperative and union deductions as well as leave allowances.
