Apapa Club eyes medal haul

The President of Apapa Club, Pius Ofulue, is confident that the club is in a good position to win the Quadrangular Games which started on Saturday. The three other clubs in the games are Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Ikoyi Club 1938 and Lagos Country Club.Apapa Club ended its one-week competition, which was sponsored by Oando Plc, last Friday where its representatives to the Quadrangular Games were selected. Ofulue said the event ended on a successful note.Besides using the competition to select our athletes for the Quadrangular Games, we are using it to foster better relationship among the club members. Were also using it to enhance our relationship with the sponsor, Oando, Ofulue said.The competition has prepared us well for the Quadrangular Games which we hope to win in style.The clubs sports secretary, Dozie Udeze, said the competition had made some sections of the club more vibrant.It gave us the opportunity to train for the Quadrangular Games and make the best selection for our events. More importantly, some of the sections, which had not enjoyed competitions in recent time, were made more vibrant with their participation, Udeze said.From what weve seen in our competition, we should be able to win the Quadrangular Games easily.
