Contribute your quota to Nigerias development, HID charges corps members

Over 3,000 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members posted to Ogun State for the one-year mandatory service to their fatherland have been charged to contribute immensely to the development of Ogun State in particular and Nigeria in general.The chairman, African Newspapers of Nigeria (Plc), Yeye Oodua, Chief (Mrs) HID Awolowo, gave the charge while playing host to the 2011 Batch A corps members during the Endurance Trek  to Ikenne, home of the Awolowos.She  congratulated the corps members for the successful completion of their studies in various higher institutions across the country, asking them to exhaust all opportunities within their reach to contribute to national growth.Chief Awolowo  added that the corps members must exhibit good character in all their undertakings while in the state, saying that Ogun State had become a fast growing state with a lot of prospects and opportunities for  the serious minded ones among them.The matriarch of the Awolowo dynasty urged the corps members to be good ambassadors of the country irrespective of their religions and ethnic backgrounds while describing the people of Ogun State as peace loving, caring and accommodating.Mama also congratulated them for being the first set of corps members to use the newly constructed NYSC orientation camp by the Governor Gbenga Daniel- led administration in the state.She said, Permit me to offer a word of advice to you; which is, to be worthy ambassadors of the country and contribute immensely to the development of the state during your stay here.Ogun State is a fast growing state with a lot of prospects and opportunities for serious minded individuals. It will therefore be wise if you will utilise these opportunities to your own advantage.She added that she had been playing host to corpers posted to Ogun State for over 20 years, appreciating the state NYSC for the honour.Responding, the State Director, NYSC, Mr Godwin Onukwue, thanked Mama for being the host of corps members posted to the state at all times.Onukwue, represented by the Camp Director, Mrs Elizabeth Ojo, prayed for Mamas good health, saying the entire NYSC team in Ogun State would continue to appreciate her.
